Hovercraft When I was growing up we always had a modest stack of MAD magazines in the house. This was back in the days when Don Martin was still on-board and I loved reading Spy VS Spy, Sergio Aragonés' marginals, Al Jaffee's blueprints and of course his classic back cover those days MAD didn't carry adverts - well not real ones anyway - but some of my friends actually had.

How to Build a Hovercraft by Voltz and Grobe (Chronicle Books, pgs.) includes twenty-five science projects and all are engaging. You can be a mad scientist in your own home. The experiment instructions are written as if a friend is guiding you through the steps—not too technical (until you get to the science explanations), and casual.

The creation of colouring books came about by accident, I never intended to draw a colouring book. The idea started because I wanted to create a personalised piece of artwork for a Christening gift. I went about creating the name with letters that were made up from things beginning with that letter, my first letter being the letter H.
